Jet and I having so much fun!

Jet and I in a trail class this fall. We were the only bitless entrants, and we won!

My filly, Jess.

Hi - I'm Katy, from east TN (southern U.S.). I have a 12 year old mare as well as her 3 1/2 year old filly (I purchased her bred). Jet has always been barefoot, and we transitioned to treeless and bitless last summer. She is so much happier now - going in a much more relaxed and happy manner. I've been training the baby (Jess) myself, and we're working towards bitless with her as well. It's good to find a place where people won't think I'm nuts!

Nice horses. What breed are they?

The most frequent guess is thoroughbred, but Jet came from an auction with no background information at all. I was halfway expecting the baby to be a mule.

hi . Know what you mean about people thinking using bitless bridles is a bit odd. You make it look easy with your youngster. welcome from fin

Thanks for the warm welcome. I can't wait to get some suggestions on training with Jess. Jet made the transition in about ten minutes, so that doesn't really help me with the process. She was never happy with any bit - head tossing, bracing against it and such. Her whoa is so much better bitless.

Welcome here!

Your horses are lovely!!

Please keep us posted on your progress with Jess!

It's great being in a group where going bitless, shoeless and treeless isn't shunned!
