Hi, it's me the mad saddlechariot guy, still having fun, still bitless and I must have started 40 + animals driving bitless by now. Any questions, I probably haven't a clue.

I'm glad I am not the only one driving bitless Theres a lot more skepticism with driving bitless than there is riding.

Sydney, quite agree. What bitless set up do you use? I started with Dr Cook and have moved to Be Kind but am quite prone to just using a halter. Is there a bitless driving section here or should we start one?

I've used many many bitless bridles. From mechanical hackamores (now I know better), dr.cooks, halters, side pulls, bosals, recently a jaquima (spelling?) but I always settle back on a nurtural bridle for control and ease of use.
I don't think theres a bitless driving section. I think we might be the only ones on the site that drive bitless.

I'm sure Wendy would be happy to set up a bitless driving section. I owe her an email so I will suggest it if she hasn't noticed this thread yet! I know she'll be prepping for Your Horse Live so might be a bit busy.

I don't drive but as soon as we get land of our own (oh please God, one day) I will train the Z and whatever other horse we have to accompany him to drive. That way we can manage the land, harrow etc the smart way.

Also I think it's great when horses have many talents and disciplines. At the moment, we are working on dressage, jumping, bridleless riding and trick training. The more I can stretch him mentally the better he gets in all his disciplines (or so I find).

So I'd be very interested in reading about driving training.
