Hi, my name is Whitney, just stopping in here to introduce myself. I just recently bought my horse, Baloo, a Cook's BB and he is doing very well with it so far! I joined this board in hopes of talking to other people using this or similar bridles and learning how to work with my horse with this new method of communication we now have!

Thanks everyone for the welcome!

Baloo and I just went bitless this month, and he is loving it, and I'm so happy that he is enjoying it. I've noticed a difference in him already. I went bitless with him because no matter how many bits I tried, he fussed so much with his mouth and just didnt seem happy.
Here is a picture of all of Baloo, he's such a sweetheart, and a wonderful horse. Such a good boy.

What a handsome fella! I love those Medicine Hat Paints. Someday I hope to own one...possibly next year, my friend breeds paints and her stud is a Medicine Hat Paint..wait to see what next year's babies look like...plus that gives me lots of time to convince hubby I need one more horsey...hee hee.

I think Baloo is a wonderful name!

Hehe, he's sooo... White! lol. Its awful. Actually when I decided I could support a horse again, I set out looking for a bay gelding of some sort, and I ended up with another medicine hat paint! lol. Supposedly he's a bay roan, so I guess I got some of the bay part, lol.

get working on him! the men just dont understand how essential another horse is, haha!

Oh, I can't see myself getting another pony anytime soon! Ha ha! I have 3 already that I am pressed to have time for!

A bay roan? Can't see it but then again, my APHA is a solid buckskin and the only white he has is in his mane!

Our local Paint Club is having a colt raffle at the moment so, of course, had to buy tickets on that. Knowing me, I don't really need another horse, just bought tickets to support the club, but I'll probably end up winning the colt just because I don't need another horse to support! Ha ha!

They raffle horses in Canada? isn't that potentially cruel? Anybody could win it. I don't think that would be legal in the UK. How do they make sure the colt gets a good home?

Not trying to jump your thread Baloo, but I thought I had better repsond to the raffle question....

Yes, they do raffle horses in my area and as for the "potentially cruel", yes, there is always that concern...unfortunately, most breeders can screen who they sell to, but in reality, once the horse leaves their place, they really have no say in what happens to it....(not trying to sound cruel myself or offend anyone here....I apologize if I have).

So, the raffle makes money for club, and fortunately, the people who purchase these tickets are more than likely able to provide for the colt - if I would have won, I would have been able to provide for it. I would have been stretched to do it, but I went in with my eyes open about the situation and the colt would have been taken care of.

I haven't got a phone call yet, so I am thinking that I didn't win.
