BITLESS ENTHUSIASTS MAKING A DIFFERENCE!
Hi Bitless Supporters!
I noticed that there hasn't been very many recent posts on the forum!!! What's happened?
I would like you to check out my newly launched website: www.equibility.com.au
I would love to let you all know about my plans!
My plan is to CHANGE the rules, not just in Australia, but around the WORLD!
I am thinking about starting up a society...
By creating a rule book permitting Bitless Bridles only (that have been tried & tested) and
encourage barefoot, spurless and whipless riding.
This would allow all those Bitless Riders to compete in 'new' classes.
I don't know about other countries, but Australia is pretty... 'old school' in their training & rules!
Since show/breed societies don't plan on excepting rule changes to permit Bitless anytime soon
I think the best solution is to create a NEW society and rule book!!! At least, Bitted riders wouldn't
have to worry about Bitless riders beating them.
I would love to hear your thoughts on this!
A name I thought may be good was The International Modern Equestrian Society
I those the word 'modern' because there are too many people in the 'traditional/old' style.
I am wanting to know if any of you would consider becoming a member of this sort of society.
Thankyou!
Grace

Re: BITLESS ENTHUSIASTS MAKING A DIFFERENCE!
Hi Grace!
Nice to see someone else posting in here besides me, even though it's been a while since I've even written anything.
You sound like a very determined young lady. Good for you! I have often thought of doing the same thing you are planning to do - hold events for bitless riders. But alas, I have no idea where to start. You could very well be the ground-breaker in this area, and an inspiration for others to do the same.
I obviously don't know the cons of starting something like this, so it'll be interesting to see if anyone else with experience weighs in.
Wishing you well!!
Cyndi

Hey Grace!
Wow What a great idea!
You have thought it out very well.
I would definately consider becoming a member!
I would also do my best to help support you to get it started!
Would you just have competions or would you have rally days as well?
Keep us updated on how you go and let us know if we can do anything to help!
It takes alot of courage to do what you are doing so well done!
Unfortuately I am unable to check out your website right now but I will when I get a chance!

Re: BITLESS ENTHUSIASTS MAKING A DIFFERENCE!
Hi Grace, not sure why the forum's gone quiet. Cyndi's been doing a great job keeping it going for us :-)
It sounds like you've put a lot of thought into your society idea. Events for bitless riders sound great. Things you might consider are whether you exclude bitted competitors all together (if they were regularly beaten by bitless combinations, would they think again about their bits), whether online video competitions might be a good way to get enough competitors together, and a 'Mission Statement' which lays out what your society is trying to do.
We're here to bounce ideas off, keep us posted on how you get on :-)
