New Bitless Adventure!
Hey all,
I was in contact with the Canadian Cowboys Mounted Shooters as I was quite interested in joining because they allow Bitless in competition. Unfortunately, they are based out of Alberta and with me in Saskatchewan, I am at a disadvantage to join.
Well, I got an email yesterday from the club and there is going to be a clinic on Saturday right in my area! Sooo excited! Unfortunately, I don't have a horse ready as the one that I would use is going to go for training in June. I am hoping that I can attend as a spectator. It sounds like there is enough interest to start a club in Saskatchewan!
Finally, something that I can compete in something using a bitless bridle! Totally excited!
I just had to share my happy news!
Things are going to good in my world lately - I am waiting for something to happen to bring me off my cloud! First, found an affordable trainer, second, found a bitless bridle dealer right by my home, third, found this club right in my area and also, my husband informed me that a new dressage saddle is my Mother's Day gift but probably won't be able to get it until June!

Congrats! That's all great news. Have fun.
We went to a demo last year, and our horses were stalled not too far away. While they reacted, it was mild, and they all adjusted very quickly.

Wow, things really do seem to be in your favor these days! Good for you! Try not to waste any energy "worrying" about anything that might burst your bubble - just savor what's going well in your life right now, and be thankful for it
I would love to do something like team penning or some other activity with Fanny. I asked my trainer to let me know if there is any natural talent or ability that he can see in her that would steer us in the right direction. I still think she'd make a lovely driving horse...and I think Jason does that in addition to the saddle training. Hmm.....I'll have to ask and find out.

Well, I went shooting on Saturday and it was soo much fun! All the horses did great and the clinician was excellent! Since I didn't have a horse ready for this clinic, I was designated as the balloon girl!
The clinician started by everyone riding in pairs and he was in the lead with his bull whip to create a loud cracking/banging noise, then he moved up to pistols. By the afternoon, everyone was doing so well that they were loping patterns and shooting!
I am so going to the next one!!!

What a fun activity to meet other people and have fun with your horse at the same time
When is the next clinic? Tell us all about it once you do it.
